This is a Lovely large example of a Late Victorian solid Mahogany bookcase c1890-1900. It is raised on the classic plinth base wtih a pair a large lower cupboard with two sets of fielded panels the top being carved with foliage. Above this is a pair of large drawers with drop handles. The upper section has a pair of glass doors and four fully adjustable or removable shelves, I have not shown it with all of the shelves in although they come with it. It splits into four sections, the upper cornice and lower plinth are seperate with the main upper cabinet and lower cupboard being seperate. The shelves and drawers can also be removed for travelling.
it is
57 inches wide at the top
54 inches wide at the base
13 1/4 inches deep at the top
18 1/2 inches deep at the base
92 1/2 inches high (7ft, 8 1/2 inches high) yes its big.
