This is a Rare George I Oak and Elm Corner Bureau c1715-25.  It is raised on short turned legs.  The bottom cupboard opens and reveals a single fixed shelf.  The top flap comes down and rests on vernacular pullout supports which are very strong but this design I have not see before.  There is the push back central flap to reveal the inner section below for storage that is quintessential at this point.  The two drawers are triangular as you would expect.  The main lock for the flap is George III and comes with a key and the lower cupboard lock is Georgian / Victorian and comes with a key.  It has loads of character and patina and is a wonderful and rare thing.  We have been in the business for decades and only ever seen one other corner bureau and this is our first to sell.  A great piece.
